Press Release: Dedication ceremony for Nancy V.

Dedication ceremony set for Nancy Jane A. Vajcovec on the Hayden Pond causeway in Dudley at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Nancy, who passed away peacefully on November 26, was a long time Hayden Pond resident. 

She served many years on the Dudley Finance and Appropriations Committee, the Dudley Conservation Commission, the Dudley Conservation Land Trust, and the Hayden Pond Association. Nancy was also a co-founder and 15-year active member of the Dudley Woman’s Club, a member of the Black Tavern Historical Society and the French River Connection. She also volunteered at, and was an active member of, St Andrew Bobola Church.

To honor this remarkable woman and her indelible contributions to the community she loved, the Dudley Conservation Land Trust and the Dudley Conservation Commission are installing a stone marker and plaque at the Hayden Pond Road causeway during a ceremony that is dedicating the causeway in her name.

The causeway on Hayden Pond Road may be accessed from Pierpont Road or Mason Road Ext. Portions of Hayden Pond Road will be closed during the ceremony, so attendees are asking to plan parking accordingly and are invited to bring lawn chairs.

Guest speakers, including state Representative Peter Durant, and music by Terry Canty will be included in the ceremony.
