Firearms Licensing Application and Procedure
Firearms Licensing Office: 508-640-8400
Application process: Applicants are required to call the Dudley Police Department to have their name added to the Firearms Appointment list. Applications are processed by appointment only, do not drop off or mail applications. You will need to leave your best daytime phone number to be reached at and the date your current license expires. If you are not currently licensed, please specify this will be a new application. Please call 508-640-8400.
On the date and time of your interview you should have the following documents with you:
1. 4-page firearms license application. (Be sure to fill out completely and honestly)
*First time applicants do not have to submit last (fourth) page.
2. A Massachusetts driver’s license or ID card with a Town of Dudley address.
3. A $100.00 non-refundable check made out to the Town of Dudley.
*Cash and credit cards will not be accepted.
4. New applicants must provide a COPY of their Firearms Safety Certificate issued by the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Applicants renewing a license should bring their most recent firearms license.
Applicants renewing their license should start this process 90 days before their expiration date. There is a 90-day grace period if your license expires but only if you have already had your appointment and processed your renewal.

Change of address: If you are moving, you must file a change of address form within 30 days. This form must be given to the issuing license authority, the licensing authority to the town you are moving to and to the Firearms Records Bureau. Failure to notify shall be cause for the suspension of your firearms license.
