            On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, a 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody by Worcester Police in connection with a shooting that occurred in Dudley on April 2nd.  The shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 am, outside of 141 Center Rd.  The initial dispatch was for a large disturbance.  Responding officers observed a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle failed to stop for the police and decision was made to terminate the pursuit at the Connecticut state line.  When officers returned to 141 Center Rd, a single witness out of dozens stated that there might have been a shooting prior to police arrival.   Due to uncooperativeness of witness at the disturbance, officers were not able to determine if a shooting occurred until a video was discovered later that morning.   
 
Officer James Mastrogiovanni investigated the incident in conjunction with the Worcester Police Gang Unit.  As a result of the investigation two arrest warrants were issued for two suspects.  One of the suspects, Mahiah Sakai Byfield-Johnson was arrested on April 24.  The two suspects were charged with the following:
