The Committee evaluates applicants for appointment to the police department and provides the appointing authority with a list from which appointments are made. The Committee also makes recommendations regarding police promotions and disciplinary actions.
The following is a list of current members of the Dudley Police Evaluation Committee:

Dudley Personnel Board
The Moderator appoints one of the five members of the Dudley Personnel Board. The Board is responsible for establishing personnel procedures and standards for hiring, benefits, performance evaluation, promotions, corrective actions and grievances. The Board is established under the provisions of Article XXXII of the Dudley By Laws.
The Moderator’s appointee to the Board is the Chairman.
Special Committees
The Moderator appoints Special Committees which are normally formed as a result of a vote of the town meeting and which have a specific function to perform and then are discharged when they make their final report to the town meeting. Examples of past special committees are The Charter Committee, the Public Safety Building Committee and the Information Technology Committees. The only currently active Special Committee is the Library Building Committee. It is a committee of fifteen citizens and town officials who are deliberating over the renovation of the town hall building into a library at the time the new town hall at the West Main Street School location is completed.
